Overview
As the world faced restrictions due to the lockdown, maintaining physical and mental well-being became paramount. Spotify recognised the opportunity to support its users by creating a website that combined music and fitness to inspire movement and motivation within the confines of their homes.
Problems and Challenges
Create an outstanding website providing a unique audio-driven fitness experience to promote physical activity at home.
Optimize the user journey for seamless and engaging navigation.
Collaborate with an external agency to acquire image assets and motion graphics, ensuring design cohesion throughout the process.
Userflow
The team and I have meticulously designed a streamlined user journey, empowering users to navigate the experience seamlessly with minimal clicks and no unnecessary steps. Upon landing on the page, users can effortlessly select their location, workout intensity level, preferred workout guide voice, and music. Subsequently, we prompt users to connect to Spotify to save their chosen workout music before commencing the workout. During each exercise, users are guided with visual instructions displayed on the screen, ensuring they perform each movement accurately. Upon completion of the workout, users receive a banner displaying workout statistics as a reward, which they can share on social media to invite friends to try it out.
Imagery and Style Guide
We collaborated with an external agency to create animated characters and illustrations, aligning them with the mood board we provided. Concurrently, we developed a concise style guide adhering to Spotify's branding guidelines. After completing the animations and their conversion using Lottie, they were seamlessly integrated into the user journey.
Comprehensive User Journey Design
To kick off the Spotify HIIT workout, the user opens the app and sets up HIIT training. After selecting preferences for location, duration, coach voice, and musical genres, there's an option to connect to Spotify to save the playlist for later. The user initiates the workout, consisting of 10 to 20 exercises based on previous choices, follows on-screen guidance, tracks progress, transitions to the cool down, and reviews the session summary. To amplify the experience, users can share their results at the end, inviting friends to give it a try!
